PSN requirement causing issues for Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima

Ana sayfa / Games

Sony backed down on requiring a PlayStation Network account to play Helldivers 2 on Steam. However, the publisher change has not fully resolved access issues for all players. Those living in over 170 countries where a PSN account cannot be created are still banned from purchasing the popular co-op shooter on Valve’s digital storefront.

According to a message from Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studio’s CEO Johan Pilestedt, discussions around removing regional restrictions are ongoing but no solution has been found yet. Pilestedt stated they want the game available everywhere but provided no timeline for a resolution.

One UI 6.1 surprise for popular Samsung model!

One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S21 FE is on its way. Samsung has started rolling out updates to its popular mid-to-high-end model.

The PSN requirement continues to impact other Sony games coming to PC as well. Ghost of Tsushima, known for its engaging open-world multiplayer, requires a PSN account to access online modes. However, this is causing problems for the upcoming PC version. Several pre-orders for Ghost of Tsushima on PC have already been automatically refunded for customers living in regions unable to make PSN accounts.

While the single-player experience in Ghost of Tsushima does not require a PSN sign-up, the online requirements are limiting the game’s availability just as it is set to launch on a new platform.

It remains to be seen if Sony will address these region restriction issues in time for the PC launches of both Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima to be a smooth experience for all players worldwide.
